Flooding! – Aussie Company comes to the rescue
Brisbane, Australia - Brisbane based technology company – Moreton Bay Systems, has been selected by the UK environment Agency to supply wireless surveillance cameras to monitor critical waterways throughout the UK.  Culverts and waterways can get blocked during heavy rain, causing serious flooding in local towns and cities with devastating results.
Moreton Bay Systems’ unique ‘wire free’ solar powered cameras continuously monitor the critical areas and send images back to a control room for emergency coordination.  ‘Our patented ultra-low power technology enables the standalone cameras to operate indefinitely on batteries with minimal maintenance’, said Moreton Bay System’s CEO, Mr David Hill.
Mr Hill also said that his company was working with many Government agencies throughout Australia including LinkWater in Brisbane to monitor waterways and infrastructure. The installation of cameras at known flood areas on roads and key access points, as well as river level monitoring at regular distances could form the basis of a flood early warning system for South East Queensland.
